The PEL 113 licence has been renewed and is currently in the second year of the second five year portion of its 10 year life, with a well to be drilled before 30th April, 2011.
Exploration
Touriga South 1 will be drilled in 2010 to test the validity of identifying gas filled sandstone reservoirs in the Patchawarra Formation, directly from seismic data.
Development
If Touriga South 1 is a successful gas well, development would probably be carried out through the nearby Santos infra-structure.
Seismic
Reprocessing of approximately 700km of 2D seismic data has been completed. Rock physics data has provided rock property depth trends in 12 wells in the area. The seismic and well data has had a multi-stack absolute inversion carried out. Gas probability seismic sections over known gas fields have shown a number of undrilled prospects have the same seismic response. In the Touriga - Garanjanie gas fields area, Touriga South has been identified as a prospect to be drilled in the first half of 2010.
Discoveries and Potential
This licence contains the Harpoono, Rimfire, Revenue, Padulla, Toparoa, Might and Power, Dunoon 2 and Comic oil discoveries. The Arwon and Derrilyn oil discoveries also lie partially within the licence.
At present 12 oil prospects, 32 oil leads, 5 gas prospects and 20 gas leads are mapped in the area.
Un-risked mean recoverable oil reserves in the prospects are 6.7 million barrels. Un-risked mean recoverable gas reserves are 21.7 billion cubic feet.
